The wrapping paper was a bit hit this year - but I am sure that next year the Christmas excitement will hit a fever pitch!!

November 2009

A lot of outdoor excitement for Aiden in November. We went to the Santa Claus parade and he loved it - sat still and watched the float, animals and bands go by. The Holiday train also came to town so we took Aiden to see it. It was a fairly cold night and the singing was not that great, but he enjoyed it anyways!

So last year Kathy did some great pics of Aiden, this year I took him over to the same park and really tried to get a couple of nice shots of him. He did not want to participate.

We also took a trip up to to Knox Pumpkin farm. He really enjoyed the wagon ride and finished off the day by giving the pumpkins kisses.

Bath Time

I thought kids didn't like the bath - AIDEN LOVES IT! There is nothing he loves more than a bubble bath. In fact, we now have to refer to it as a Ming-Ming bath because the bubble bath has the WonderPets on the bottle.

Catching Up

Okay, So I last wrote about Aiden in September and so much has happened since then. Today is his second birthday, so it's time to catch up!

Walking!

Aiden walked on July 11, 2009. We were upstairs in the office and I turned around from the computer and there he was - walking across the room. Later that day, I managed to capture it on the camera. He first steps - and he hasn't stopped since!

August 2009 and Summer Vacation!

August was a fun month. We hit the road with the Beggs and headed to New Brunswick. Aiden did very well in the car both there and back. On the way there, he slept most of the way as we did the drive over night. He was absolutely hilarious as we drove through Montreal traffic around midnight. He woke up and just laughed as he looked out the windows at the cars and trucks going by. He also loved putting his hand over his mouth and pfffting - we all laughed at that for nearly an hour! New Brunswick was beautiful and Aiden had a great time! This one below is my absolute favourite picture of Aiden from the trip, and actually from the last year. He just looks like he is having so much fun - and he did. He loved those rocks. He had a little dump truck he put them in. He also had a little sieve that he would scoop water in, then get mad at because the water wouldn't stay in! I love this one too. Everyone was sleeping in the cabin, except of course Aiden and I so we went outside and he ran around playing in the sand and dirt - and loved every minute of it!

July 2009

On to July. I think we had one hot day in July so that's the one time Aiden got to use his pool this summer - and he loved it!

July was also the celebration of 1 year of Cherie's Moms and Tots group - Aiden has enjoyed the company of his friends every week for a year and the group celebrated in grand style!

Time to play catch up and think back to what happened in June. It's only a few months ago but in toddler time, its like a lifetime.

Aiden got his first hair cut in June. It was a long time coming, and his mom was having some real issues cutting his curls off but we made it through it, and so did Aiden.

With his hair cut, he really looked grown up, not like a little baby anymore. On the bright side, his curls came back, but Dad took him for a haircut again before they got out of control!

I guess I have some catching up to do here. I haven't blogged about Aiden nearly 3 months! Aiden has grown up so much in these few months. He is so playful and energetic and just loves to play. He is very silly - and loves his 3D glasses.

He also loves the doggie - his favourite word. He likes to feed the doggie his dinner and really LOVES to watch for the doggie to come to the back door, often waiting for him and saying "doggie"!

Aiden also got his first haircut recently. As you can see, it had gotten a little out of control.

But after getting the haircut - it is much more in control!

Aiden's Great Great Nan passed away on January 29, 2009.

I am happy to have been able to capture some memories of the two of them together so that when Aiden gets older, he can look back at these pictures, since he won't be able to remember her like I do.

She will be missed.

The last couple of weeks have been amazing. All of a sudden Aiden started pulling himself up - now he tries to stand on anything he can.

He has also become a master of the stairs...

He also has started saying Dadadadada and Mumumumumum...not sure if he knows what it means but we like to think so. Here is a video of his new baby talk:

A Loonie for your Thoughts

Aiden and I enjoyed a nice lunch out today with Julia and Ainsley at the Pizza Hut Buffet. While we were enjoying our meal, an elderly (and not really English speaking) lady came over and told us how cute the babies were (I think that is what she was saying), we told her Thank You. She walked away and then came back with a loonie for each baby for Good Luck. Score, $1 for Aiden and $1 for Ainsley!

Aiden is getting bigger and enjoying many different types of food now. He really enjoys cream corn but coughs whenever he gets a spoonful of vegetable beef (who wouldn't). Here is a picture after a Farley biscuit for dessert:

He has also begun to really enjoy "The Nibbler" - a mesh pocket with a handle that you can put food into so that they don't big chunks - he is really enjoying some banana in the photo below.

Aiden is now just over 4 months old and is now enjoying rice cereal!

The Wal-Mart Breakdown

Aiden does not like Wal-Mart. He must have inherited this from me!

We went there last night to get some formula and diapers, 2 staples of our lives now.

Aiden was fine for a while but then came the whimper. The whimper then turned into full blown screaming. We were those parents that others look at and say "Take that child home"! I used to be that person. Not anymore.

So Cherie was in the change room while this meltdown was occurring. She hurried out as she could hear him from across the store.

As Cherie checked out, I took Aiden to the car. Literally, as soon as we exited the store the crying stopped. Moral of this story is no Wal-Mart for Aiden!

The Bowmanville Zoo

Aiden took his first tip to the zoo today and he enjoyed it immensely, even though he will not remember it at all!

He also got his first souvenir, a little stuffed Zebra named Pepsi (after the zebra at the zoo!). He loves it and was gripping it tightly in the car.

Hi,

Not really sure if anyone reads this blog (except Krista) but here I am. Poor Aiden. When he looks at this blog in the future he will wonder what happened in his life between 3 weeks and 9 weeks!

Well, the big thing is the SMILE. How rewarding and heart melting is it when he looks at me and SMILES!

3 Weeks Already

Aiden is 3 weeks old already! Time is flying by - although it is sleepless time!

He has also developed a lovely case of newborn acne! We hope it doesn't last too long but we still think he's cute.

He is holding his head up more and more. Really, he has been doing this since he was born but in the past week he has really been holding it up. Sort of like a turtle coming out of his shell to look around.

More to come later this week.

Woman Locks Baby in Car at Whitby Mall

Whitby, On (CP) - A new mother accidentally locked her 13-day old baby in the car at the Whitby Mall on Wednesday. The woman put her keys in her purse after opening her trunk to get the diaper bag. She realized that she did not need to carry her purse so she put it in the trunk for safe keeping. Once she closed the trunk she realized that her doors were locked, and her keys were in her purse!

Attempting to call her husband at the Coffee Time at the mall, but being refused by the owner, a staff member gave her a cell phone to use. After frantic calls to her husband (who raced from work to home then almost to the mall), a very nice passerby called CAA who were there on the double and unlocked the doors reuniting mom and son.

Names of the mother and son are not being released.

The Circ

Aiden had the circ today.

I am glad he will not remember, but Cherie and I will.

We sat in the office since we chose not to watch (who could!?) but we could hear him. A couple of little whimpers and it was over.

Changing his diaper and home and taking a look though...YIKES...glad it is something he will soon forget!
